My whole life centres on health, nutrition and wellbeing. It is, quite simply, who I am. I love food, I love sport, I love people.
I began athletics training at 10 years old. Running long distances was perfectly natural to me – living in rural Colombia meant I had to run daily 7 kilometres to school, from the age of six. I instinctively set about discovering the best foods to help me achieve my goals.
Whilst doing my Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Antioquia, Colombia, I used each nugget of new nutritional knowledge for personal physical gain in my role as an athlete.
As a qualified Nutritionist and Dietitian, I was part of a Governmental Plan in Colombia to educate people on the preparation of soy and soy products as a source of high quality protein. Additionally, I helped them make the most of the very few resources they had. I loved this experience, enlightening, thought-provoking and sadly often troubling, I nevertheless saw the obvious link between dietary patterns and health outcomes. It also reinforced my desire to work and to help people change their lifestyle for the better.
After working in Spain in private nutrition consultation and currently in the Uk, I am looking forward to share with you all my knowledge in the hope to empower you to make healthy eating a natural and fun part of your lifestyle.
