Our food choices are typically driven by our emotions, environment and habits that we’ve created over time. However, no two journeys for making lifestyle changes are alike. My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental and incorporates intuitive and mindful eating advice, which can be particularly helpful for individuals who want to address unhealthy dieting cycles, emotional eating or who want to learn to trust their body again.
Receiving specialist support from a dietitian can empower you to embrace a way of living that is both healthy and enjoyable and help you develop a sustainable nutrition plan that is built around you as an individual. By taking simple and realistic steps and learning what your ‘balance’ looks like, you will experience a significant improvement to your quality of life, without giving up the things you love. For example, being able to enjoy a dessert on the weekend or sip a glass of wine with friends without feeling guilty. Your individual needs will always be accounted for, for example eating well under a busy lifestyle, following a vegan diet, managing low energy levels etc.
The sessions will include a mixture of nutrition counselling and behavioural interventions to help you re frame unbalanced lifestyle habits and beliefs but also to start challenging any negative thoughts and distorted beliefs which may be maintaining a dysfunctional relationship with food.
If you have more than one health concerns and you would like to ensure a holistic approach, it may be useful to know that I also have experience in Sports nutrition, and Chronic Disease management and prevention (e.g. Heart Disease,, hyperlipidemia). My expertise stems from working in specialist Eating disorders units, from my own private dietetic practice, as well as from working with a Digital healthcare company specialising in Diabetes and Weight Management.
Living in balance is the core of my own lifestyle and philosophy. In my free time I enjoy travelling, exploring different cuisines and dancing salsa. I love keeping up to date with nutrition science by reading articles and attending webinars. I am also currently learning Spanish!
